System Requirements

Please Note

If you use Windows XP and have applied all the usual updates, you should already have all the operating system requirements in place, with the exception of the .NET Framework which is optional with Windows Update but essential for the correct operation of LodgeDat. The CD Version includes a few extras to save you some large downloads.

In order to function, LodgeDat needs the following pre-installed on your PC
(Sorry, Mac users and those who do not use Microsoft products ...)

  • Windows XP with SP2 or SP3 or Windows 2000 with SP3 or later
    - download Windows XP SP2 free from Microsoft's web site
    - the current version is not compatible with Windows Vista
    - a Vista-enabled version will follow in due course
  • Microsoft .NET framework (version 2 or above preferred) - see notes above
    - download .NET free from Microsoft's web site
  • A modern PC
    - 512MB RAM (minimum) is recommended for reasonable data processing speeds
    - a fast processor will improve your experience
    - graphics card capable of 1024 x 768 pixels resolution with 16-bit colour minimum
  • Office Security Settings
    - should be set to Medium or Low to avoid annoying messages
(This is done for you automatically during the installation of LodgeDat)
    - users should register LodgeDat as a 'Trusted Source' when prompted during installation
  • LodgeDat was designed to take advantage of newer versions of Microsoft Office
    - Microsoft Word and Excel 2000/XP/2003 to utilise many of the automated features
    - Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express to use the automated email functions
    - designed and fully tested using Office 2003
    - not yet tested with Office 2007 but the feedback received so far from users of Office 2007 is positive
    - it will be tested with other packages soon
