The system is constantly being enlarged and improved to
accommodate the needs of customers.
- New facilities and options are included in freely
available updates and new templates, and images, etc, are regularly added to
those originally supplied.
- New Lodges, Chapters, Conclaves, etc, are added to those
supplied as details become available and those that cease to exist are
identified.
- New Orders, Consitutions, Districts and Province details
are added regularly.
- Officers, titles and honours are updated and supplemented
in response to customer feedback.
- Program fixes are issued as they are identified.
- New operating systems and office productivity suites will
be accommodated where possible.
Updates
Updates are supplied as Windows™ installer packages
(.msi) which can be downloaded directly from this website by using the "Update
LodgeDat" button on the main menu.
Do not run the installer from the website - download it and
run it from your computer.
Download the appropriate file and save it to your desktop, a
folder of your choice, or use the 'updates' folder at 'C:\Documents and
Settings\All Users\Application Data\LodgeDat\Updates'. If you need to modify or
remove an update, you may need them again for the uninstall program to work
properly. After you have moved / saved the update files, double-click the
downloaded .msi package to install it.
The update installer packages contain all the files required
for the system to be modified and adds new templates as they are designed and
issued. New templates are installed as required. Existing templates, which may
have been customised by the user, are not modified or over-written. If a
template has been changed to incorporate new functionality, you will be
informed that the template needs to be replaced and how to do it.
Updated information about Masonic Orders
and their meeting places will be included with some updates, together with
updates to the additional data supplied by the designer.
No personal data
already entered by the user is changed by the update process, although
additional functionality may be added by an update, which may require personal
data to be updated by the user if that additional functionality is to be used.
This will usually mean filling in new fields, ie, adding new information to
records, rather than changing the data already supplied by the user.
Updates can be automatically removed using the 'Add/Remove
Programs' option in the Windows 'Control Panel'
The following updates for version 1.2 are available for
download. They are listed with the newest at the top.
Please check which version of
LodgeDat you currently have installed before downloading any
update.
Your currently installed version is
displayed on the main menu page at the top.
Remember to install them in the
correct order - oldest followed by newest.
The updates show which previous versions of LodgeDat they
can update from. Please ensure you choose one that covers the version you
already have installed. If your version cannot be updated in one go, download
and install an update file that covers what you currently have and then
download any others you need to 'bridge the gap' up to the current version.
Once an update has been installed,
LodgeDat must be run at least once before updating to a later version. This
ensures that the files required by a later update are in place before they are
needed. If the files required by an update are not installed by an earlier
update, an error will occur.
Do not run the installer from the website - please save it
and run it from your computer.
